Patch changes 2.1

Well many, many classes got a rather large class overhaul with this patch, and warriors were not excluded by any means.
Tanking warriors will not notice much difference to playing the protection tree, with two rather large exceptions.

Devestate : This ability now includes the effect of sunder armour. This is a HUGE buff to the skill, not only do warriors no longer have to keep tabs on the number of sunders on a target before using devestate, but the initial and final threat of this skill has been increased. This makes tanking in the initial stages of a fight much easier, and doesn’t hurt in the long run either.

Weapon Expertise Rating : This reduces the chance that the enemy will dodge, parry or block your ability. It does NOT improve your chance to hit, that is a seperate stat. Obviously hitting the enemy much more often helps with threat considerably, and it certainly helps with the initial pull, missed first swings can be lethal! Aside from that I have heard rumours that a raid mob will attack with a faster attack speed after parrying an attack from it’s target. However I have no evidence to back that up, it would be an interesting aspect to tanking if it’s true. If anyone has more information on this feel free to share it with me.

Chow for now, Bobrek
P.S

Added an AoE tanking guide to my hints and tips section. Peace out!

Back in the blogging business

Well I kinda got a bit bogged down with actually playing WoW and balancing it with my real life job. So posting has been a bit sparse of late. But with the new skill and gear changes in Patch 2.3 I think I need to get back on the horse and start posting some stuff. Watch this space!

New Guild Today!

Well spin my nipple nuts and send me to Alaska! The Zulian Tiger riding, ankle sundering, squeaky-voiced gnome tank, whom is my avatar, has become guilded today. After talking to some friends in the guild I made a 5am application to Inferno, a PvE raiding guild on Doomhammer. Waking up this afternoon at a leisurely 2 O’clock I booted up my PC to find a waiting acceptance mail. I guess that sometimes things work out nice and easy. So far the atmopshere seems good and I’ll keep you posted on my exploits in the guild.

Updates

Updated all of my pages with some extra information. Finished off my hint’s and tips page (for now) and also finished off my warrior talents page. Added a new video to the victories section too.

License to raid?

Well, I’ve decided to try and make a new impact on the Doomhammer server by getting back into raiding again. However one problem presents iteself to me : I’ve had a hiatus from the game for almost three months, and so my gear has fallen behind! I have always had a distaste for guild hoppers but at the same time I want to avoid falling into the dark abyss which is an untalented guild. Trying to find a guild which is suitable to my gear level, but more importantly to my skill level will be the main focus of my free time over the coming weeks. Wish me luck!

Welcome to Bobrek’s World of Warcraft Tank Spot!

My tank spot is all about tanks. You know what tanks are, right? They’re the crazy WoW players who sacrifice the ability to do solo dps or do anything in PvP except tank in AV and maybe carry the flag in WSG. The trade off is that they’re possibly the most important part of any raid setup, take the tank out and the whole thing falls apart no matter what gear the rest of your group has (Unless you’re raiding UBRS at level 70 of course).

However this is not a whine website, rather this is a tribute to all those insane men and women who spend all their time being smacked, sliced, slapped, poked, burned, electrocuted, clawed and stamped on.

Within this website you’ll find a few sections that I’ll develop over the next few weeks and months including my patented (not rly) “Death Diary” and my “Victorious Memories”. You’ll also find sections devoted to warrior talent specifications (Sorry Droods, I know nothing of your class talents ^^) and some rough guidlines for aspiring tanks who need a little help learning the ropes. Enjoy!
